Plot

Shankar, an irate young man, develops feelings for Mukti, his college classmate. Their relationship deepens in college, but complications arise when Mukti decides to leave him and marry someone else.

The story follows Shankar's emotional turmoil, the consequences of his anger, and how unfulfilled love shapes both their lives. Set in Banaras, it portrays a passionate yet painful love story that changes them forever.

Production

Film Development & Casting

This is the third collaboration between Rai and Dhanush. Rai believed Dhanush was the ideal choice for the role.<ref>

</ref> Kriti Sanon joined in February 2025. Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav handled the screenplay and dialogues.

Announced in June 2023, the film was delayed until October 2024 due to scheduling issues.

Film Shooting

A promo video was filmed in June 2023 on the 10th anniversary of Raanjhanaa. Shooting took place in Banaras, Delhi, and Mumbai. Kriti joined in February 2025. The shoot wrapped in July 2025 with several SRCC college scenes going viral online.<ref>
