Omkar Prasad Baidya was born on 3 December 1984 in Agartala, Tripura. He studied at Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School, followed by MBBS (2009) and MD (Physiology) in 2012 from the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal.

In 2013, he joined the Post MD–PhD program funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) at King George’s Medical University, Lucknow, completing his PhD in 2019.

He has also received training and certifications from institutions such as Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Yale University, Boston University, and the University of Toronto.

Career

Baidya has worked as an associate professor in the Department of Physiology at ESIC-PGIMSR and ESI Medical College, Joka, Kolkata. He has developed philosophical frameworks merging science, morality, and human values.

His central idea states that morality has two forms:

Intrinsic morality – present within living organisms by nature
Acquired morality – shaped through education, society, and culture
