Tere Ishk Mein is a 2025 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Aanand L. Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma. Dhanush and Kriti Sanon play the lead roles in the movie, which marks Dhanush’s first collaboration with Rai since Raanjhanaa (2013). The music is composed by A. R. Rahman.

Produced by Colour Yellow Productions and T-Series Films, the film released in theatres on 28 November 2025.

Shankar, an angry and intense young man, falls deeply in love with his college classmate Mukti. Their bond strengthens over time, but their relationship takes a dark turn when Mukti decides to leave him and marry someone else.

The story explores Shankar’s emotional breakdown, the consequences of his rage, and how unfulfilled love transforms both their lives. Set in Banaras, the film portrays a passionate yet painful journey of love, healing, heartbreak, and personal transformation.

Film Development & Casting

This is the third collaboration between director Aanand L. Rai and actor Dhanush. Rai chose Dhanush again because he believed the actor could portray a layered character with emotional depth.

Kriti Sanon joined the cast in February 2025. Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav developed the story, dialogues, and screenplay.

Although announced in 2023, production was delayed due to scheduling issues and finally began in late 2024.

Film Shooting

A promotional shoot took place in June 2023 on the 10-year anniversary of Raanjhanaa. Principal photography began in October 2024.

Shooting locations included Banaras, Delhi, Mumbai, and the campus of Shri Ram College of Commerce. Filming was completed in July 2025, with the final schedule shot in Mumbai and Leh.

Tere Ishk Mein was released theatrically in India on 28 November 2025 in both Hindi and Tamil.

Marketing

A promo was released in January 2025, followed by the full teaser on 1 October 2025. The trailer released on 14 November 2025 and received strong praise for its emotional depth and dramatic tone.

The film drew comparisons to Raanjhanaa due to its intense romantic theme and stylistic tone. Marketing efforts were led jointly by Colour Yellow Productions and T-Series.
