Rai and actor Dhanush. Rai chose Dhanush again because he believed the actor could portray a layered character with emotional depth. Kriti Sanon joined the cast in February 2025. Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav developed the story, dialogues, and screenplay. Although announced in 2023, production was delayed due to scheduling issues and finally began in late 2024. === Film Shooting === A promotional shoot took place in June 2023 on the 10-year anniversary of Raanjhanaa. Principal photography began in October 2024. Shooting locations included Banaras, Delhi, Mumbai, and the campus of Shri Ram College of Commerce.
